PATTERN DESIGN
It is very difficult to get the idea from you head and into reality. Our first steps were to draw, visualise & mockup our original idea. The bucket hat will be reversible, eyelets for shoelace & a hidden pocket on the inside attached with velcro.
DESIGN & GRAPHICS
We wanted a contemporary pattern for the first round and decided on this design. Part of the decision was that we didn’t want sublimation so the design must not be multicoloured. The research suggested that we can utilize direct to garment printing for the small print run of 300 units x 2 colours.
VISUAL MOCKUPS
Our fashion designer and pattern maker has provided a colour mockup of our red & black, or blue & black version. Next step will was to have the manufacturer make a sample & the fashion designer will also make his own sample. With both attempts we were able to give feedback, overcome obstacles and improve the original design.
